Marcel Remus and the charming Jeannie support needy seniors in Germany

Luxury real estate broker Marcel Remus and Hollywood icon Barbara Eden unveil a joint advertising poster and hand over a check worth 15,000 euros to LichtBlick Seniorenhilfe, an association that works to help elderly women and men in poverty in Germany

Palma de Mallorca, April 11, 2024: She was the TV idol of the sixties. Now the slender American actress Barbara Eden (92, „Bezaubernde Jeannie“, „Sabrina – Total Verhext“) stands together with luxury real estate agent Marcel Remus (37) and presenter Frauke Ludowig (60) in a chic white jacket with floral patterns in front of the impressive cathedral of Palma. Together they present the new advertising poster by Marcel Remus Real Estate. Under the motto „We make your dreams come true“, the charming Jeannie and the luxury real estate agent promote the 15-year-old real estate company.

After the revelation, the luxury real estate agent and the American film legend handed over a check worth 15,000 euros to Lydia Staltner (64), founder and first board member of LichtBlick Seniorenhilfe e.V. and charity lady and LichtBlick ambassador Saskia Greipl (54).

The donation benefits retired women and men in need who are supported by LichtBlick. The association has been working for over 30,000 retired men and women in Germany since 2003, whose resources are insufficient to lead a life of dignity and social participation.

The sum of 15,000 euros was dedicated to Marcel Remus on his 15th anniversary. „It is an important goal of mine to help people who are not doing well.“ Lydia Staltner from LichtBick is overjoyed: „I think it’s great that Marcel Remus doesn’t close his eyes to age. We support 80 percent of women who have been working their whole lives and now live in poverty in old age.“

But how did the collaboration with the Hollywood star come about? „Barbara and I met last year at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. She told me that it was her big dream to come to Mallorca one day,“ reports Marcel Remus. „And because she embodied the same dream as I do as a luxury real estate agent in the TV series Wünsche, the idea for the new advertising poster was quickly born.“

Barbara Eden stands smiling next to him. Anyone who thinks that the film and TV actress, born in Tuscon, Arizona, has only ever dreamed of a carefree glamorous life and is actually out of place here is greatly mistaken. The deaths of two sons, unsuccessful years, and two divorces put them to the test throughout their lives. But the attractive Hollywood legend, who appeared in front of the camera with Elvis Presley, Larry Hagman, and Paul Newman and whose filmography is as long as the Colorado River, which flows near her hometown, drew new courage time and again through her work and her third husband Jon Trusdale Eicholtz.

The birth of her son Matthew is one of the most beautiful moments in her life. „Having my son was exciting and a very happy time. I really enjoyed the years we spent together. He will always be with me,“ says Barbara Eden, who lost a second child in her eighth month of pregnancy. She smiles and says: „By the way, Marcel Remus reminds me a lot of my son Matthew.“

Nowadays, Barbara Eden no longer has any wishes. „Each of us experiences good and bad times. There is no recipe for how to deal with grief or problems. Everyone deals with it differently and very individually. All I can say is that you never forget the death of a child. I believe in a higher power, and I have always tried to not only think about myself and my problems, but to get out of myself and think about other people. You have to go within and realize that everything is interconnected.“

Back to their most beautiful moments in life. This included a visit to the White House. „I was invited to a dinner by then-President Ronald Reagan. Later I danced with him and also with his Vice President George H.W. Bush.“

The fact that she is still healthy and fit and looks so good is not only thanks to her discipline. „I could now say that I always eat the right things, have never smoked and only drink a glass of alcohol when I go to the restaurant for dinner, or tell that I used to do spinning and strength training three times a week before the pandemic to strengthen my bones and not my muscles, because it is the bones that become more porous with age. But still, I believe that strength and positivity come from within oneself.“

Together with her husband Jon Trusdale Eicholtz, the actress lives in Beverly Hills. „I bought the house when it was built. I also lived there with my mother.“ It has been remodeled and renovated several times since then; it is kept in white inside and has parquet floors. „There is a black piano in the living room. The walls are mirrored around it. We have a pool and a paddle tennis court, as well as a home trainer in the garden. But for me, it’s not important how the house is decorated. What matters to me is that my husband and our dog Bentley are there. By the way, today my husband had to go to the vet for Bentley. He was feeling unwell. He seems to be suffering from separation anxiety.“ At the end of the event, she gives young people advice not to bend over and want to be someone else. She advises: „Be authentic, be yourself and not the copy of someone else.“

Then she leaves the room smilingly with Marcel Remus. „We went on lovely trips with Barbara and showed her the island; now she’s flying back to L.A.,“ the luxury real estate agent says as she says goodbye.
